Star Wars models for DAZ
Images of available Star Wars models for your 3D rendering. Note that these are not downloads but, where possible, download links will be on the pages. Some are hi-res characters and clothing for G8 and G3 models, some are simple objects such as vehicles. I'm hoping this will be a fairly exhaustive look at both free and premium models available for Star Wars fans.

Description
See this? It's made following a youtube tutorial and this just might be one of the most important models I have ever made.
The model is that of a designer sofa called Tatlin and is itself not particularly good or interesting.
The method I used however, is both very interesting and important, because this is done with proper quad based subdivision tools.
For those of you who know a little about these things, you'll know that quad based modelling is pretty much the industry standard when it comes to game design, animation etc.
Sketchup is a wonderful tool, but it doesn't work very well for games and film etc. because it doesn't model properly in quads, and there have been no real quad based tools for subdivision. Until now.
The way this works is very different from traditional Sketchup modelling, where you make complex meshes that are "fixed". With subD modelling you make simple, ugly and angular meshes and then you let the subD tools do all the smoothing. You can switch smoothing on and off to continue editing your model. Very strange to get used to, but it just opens doors you wouldn't believe once you get your head around it.
Check out the links below, they'll explain this far far better than I can. I have also added links to the plugins on the Sketchuation site.
