Hi mate, thank you for the comment! Nope, you did not insult me, and yes, it's inspired by SW. It wasn't my original intention, but as I kept working on it, I suddenly realized that I was making a massive version of the rebel blockade runner (Tantive IV)... I'm just happy it stuck with you enough to warrant a comment. Thanks!
I like to think of this beast as being a cross between a battleship and a super heavy freighter. Rather than having a crowd of frigates, destroyers, and swarms of fighters to defend a convoy of freighters, someone had the bright idea to simply combine it all into one massive don't- !@#$%^&*-with-me. The midship section is packed with enough cargo to sustain a large colony for a year or more, while the forward and aft sections carry the personnel and the punch to see that the delivery arrives safely. This is a huge boon to inhabitants of rimward bases that see long tours of service and little in the way of resupply and reinforcements.
Hi mate! Thank you very much! It's a battleship armed carrier, but the idea of turning it into a battleship freighter is really good, and it would actually make a lot of sense. They had these back in the days of sail. Almost all the Eastindia freighters were armed to the teeth with full gun decks, so the idea is very sound.
Thank you! This is original stuff. I think half the fun is cooking this shit up, he he. Having said that, I steal ideas shamelessly from everywhere. This particular ship is heavily influenced by the rebel blockade runner from StarWars. Another one, the Dynamo is developed from the back end of the Lamborghini Countach. Stuff like that. I secretly wish that I can one day say yes, I designed the ships for this or that game, but then who doesn't..?
